We knew this about the CPI, long suspected this of the media, but the Prime Minister's establishment itself? If true, this represents a mind-numbing betrayal of India by the party we've generally endorsed.
We await a really good explanation.

Guess what, politicians seem to have had fun with the KGB *and* the CIA funding them!

You'll be waiting a long time. Too many skeletons in the closet. Indira was no saint - remember 1975-1977 and its excesses.
The most I'm hoping for is that the standards have gone up - anyone doing this today gets prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
