Persian Idiot

Via BBC, Iranian leader denies Holocaust

Don't the good people of Iran deserve better than these fools for leaders?

I think Iran-Israel is in for a showdown pretty soon. We'll have to wait for the Knesset elections before IDF can launch any military assault. Unfortunately, such actions will only strengthen this loony chap.

Cynical Nerd,

Btw, in addition to calling for the destruction of Israel and then the denial of the holocaust, Ahmed Dinejad also called for the relocation of Israel to Europe...

The Israeli rection is inevitable. Sharon is merely waiting for the right moment to wipe out Iranian nuclear facilities.

I think Sharon's alliance with Nobel Prize winner Shimon Peres will give a better legitimacy amidst internatinal eyes to the military action while not backing away from the peace process.

sharon has asked the israeli intelligence to ready a strike against the persian nuke facilities by mid march....see link below.

nukh, guess Israel doesn't need India any more for this one. Amazing how the world will smear Israel for all it's "dirty work" - yet there seems to be almost eager anticipation from several quarters for this attack on Iran.

indeed libertarian, it sickens me too.
especially, when the loony left and people of a certain faith blame everything on israel....literally,everything.
i would even venture that very soon we will be hearing some arab mover-shaker alleging that the farsi fool is a zionist agent....and the worse part is that the majority of arabs and persians will believe that crock.

Namaste,

New to this site..

Ahmedinejad's comments carry no academic value..because the Holocaust is a proven fact*I think he realises that*...but he seems to be playing to the gallery at home. Currently he is facing opposition and his nominees to ministerial posts are being rejected. He needs an issue to divert attention. The Middle East being the pot boiler it is..such is the stuff of normal discourse. I think both parties will use such comments for their own reasons.

The primary concern remains...Can we trust Iran with a Bomb? After Iran what? It was after all..Pakistan that fed it the fantasy...the bigger question remains Pakistan. How will the world decide its fate? For the Indian govt. at least...the Pakistan problem has ceased to exist.

anonymous, welcome. Ahmedinejad is either clueless, or reckless in the extreme, or *gasp* - maybe he IS a "zionist agent"! In all 3 cases, the outcome seems clear: he's painted a big bulls-eye on himself - and unfortunately - a lot of innocent Iranian folks. As for Pak, the "world" is going to do exactly nothing. It's an Indian problem - we can't be waiting for the nebulous "world" to take care of it. Israel's going to show us how it's done. Everyone got their notepad ready?

Libertarian,

You write well. We need you to contribute another piece soon. I liked the ones on oil/gas and even the write-up on cricket despite the evident India bias :-)

jaffna, thank you much. Your writing is extremely illuminating. Something coming up soon from this neck of the woods.

The solution to the Pakistan problem lies in India:

1) encircling Pak with bases on Afghanistan, CAR republics
2) having a contingency plan like Israel to de-nuclearize Pakistan
3) encourage the freedom movement of our long lost Baloch, Sindh and Gilgit brothers from Pak-Punjabi oppression
4) finally, take back POK as its rightful owner.

For India, it is extremely important to take back POK since it will

1) get us land access to Afghanistan and CAR
2) cut off PRC from Pak.

Enuff work cut out for Indian strategic planners ;-)

cynical nerd, your [blessed & wishful]laundry list can be accomplished in one swoop - and that is by de-nuclearising our neighbor.

libertarian said...

cn, nukh, seems like the wishful part is the denuclearising. Rest is almost a corollary. Also feel our regional ambitions should be articulated with more clarity. We need to take responsibility for the area from Afghanistan to Myanmar. I would like to include Iran, but seems like Israel is going to do the needful there. We need to be obsessed with Pak, but in this larger context.

nukh: US will never allow India to do that. If India manages to do that, US's importance will become zero. Indeed that's why there is a strong insistence among US strategic planners to maintain the equal-equal relationship between Pak and India.

BTW, two F-16s are being delivered free of charge (thank you U.S. tax payer) complete with decently advanced radars, BVR missiles painted in Pak. color as we speak.

That's why my post talks about a step-by-step approach inorder to spread thin the military assets given by US. As that wise Chinese sage said "A war should be won before it is fought".

nukh said...

cynical,
from what i understand, the indian defence establishment isn't too concerned about the f-16's or the accompanying accoutrements. and the planes are small potatoes compared to the gains [ strictly in the military sphere] india stands to make in her developing realtions with uncle sam directly or israel tangentially.
btw, was your "thanks" to the american taxpayer - a [cynical] barb aimed at the indian community residing in the states? just curous?

cynical nerd said...

libertarian: Yes, agree with you on India taking hold of Afghanistan to Myanmar.

nukh: Yes, the two F-16s are peanuts to an objective eye. But the Paki military + jihadi masters are an irrational bunch. Let's recall that similar sale of American weapons system (most recently pre-Kargil) resulted in an unnecessary war with the Pakis getting spanked one more time and Sharif running towards Amrikka bahadur. It looks like they get a delusional hard on and feel bold enough to take on India. Ofcourse, this time thanks to the Isreali Phalcon and Su-30 MKI, those Paki aircrafts will be history if they advance towards India.

My statement towards the U.S. tax payer was not cynical. But U.S. aid should be directed towards the jihad teaching education system than prolonging the F-16 assembling lines in Fort Worth, TX. I intend to write more on that later.

nukh said...

cynical,
u.s. aid goes where u.s interests [of the day] lie.
and most of the times, rightfuly so.
we [india] should learn to deal with it...a good start would be hiring a top notch lobbying firm on k street.
and rewarding [some sort of civillian honor] india inc cheerleaders, such as tom friedman, robert blackwill, etc..

nukh said...

cynical,
a correction.
a friend just informed me that india has hired a top notch lobbying firm.

libertarian said...

nukh, agree whole-heartedly with the lobbying deal. Stephen Cohen - big cheerleader for India - remarked that Indians in the US are the lowest contributors to political causes, adjusted for their absurdly high median income. As a result, the 2 million Indians wield miniscule clout compared to the 5 million Jews.
